The road back to the UFC heavyweight championship will begin for Fabricio Werudm at UFC 203. It was announced on Sunday that the former heavyweight champion will take on Ben Rothwell at the September 10th event. UFC 203 will also mark the first title defense for the man that defeated Werdum, Stipe Miocic. Miocic will take on Alistair Overeem in the night’s main event.

Werdum (20-6) lost the title at UFC 198 when he ran into the right hand of Miocic. The punch sent Werdum crashing to the canvas. It was the Brazilian’s first loss since rejoining the UFC back in 2012.

Rothwell (36-10) has been very vocal about his displeasure of how the UFC has been booking his fights. The veteran of over 50 professional fights has been demanding higher profile fights that will inch him closer to a title shot. His last bout was against former UFC champion Junior Dos Santos. Rothwell came up short losing the bout via a unanimous decision.

UFC 203 will be held at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
