It was announced on Monday that a heavyweight bout between former champions Andrei Arlovksi and Josh Barnett will headline the UFC’s Fight Night event in Hamburg, Germany. The event is scheduled to take place on September 3rd from the Barclaycard Arena.
Arlovski (25-12) will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back losses. After going on a six-fight win streak, Arlovski has suffered consecutive knockout losses to Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem.
Since returning to the UFC in 2013 Barnett (34-8) has been not seen much action. He has only fought four times since returning and compiled a 2-2 record. His last outing saw him lose to Ben Rothwell via submission.
Both fighters will be looking to get back on the winning side of things. With a new champion in the heavyweight division and a thin talent pool, a win could propel either man back to the front of the contender’s list.
