UFC featherweight Charles Oliveira has officially been released from the hospital after suffering a scary injury just a few days ago. Oliveira had suffered a “micro tear” of his esophagus during his main even bout against Max Holloway at the UFC Fight Night event in Saskatoon, Canada.

The injury had occurred during the early moments of the first round. What was initially thought of to be a shoulder injury quickly turned scary as Oliveira was carried away on a stretcher while wearing a neck brace.

In a statement released on their official website the UFC informed fans of the young fighter’s condition, “Oliveira will have a follow up appointment with his local physician upon returning home. Oliveira is in good spirits and appreciates the support he’s received from his fans during this time.”
