UFC straw-weight division standout Paige VanZant will return to action on September 5 at UFC 191. VanZant will take on Ultimate Fighter alum Alex Chambers. News of VanZant’s return to the octagon was first reported by MMA Sucka.

VanZant (5-1) is coming off a star making performance at the UFC on Fox 15 card back in April. It was on that night that VanZant turned in a one sided beat down of Felice Herrig en route to a unanimous decision win. VanZant has been the topic of many debates since her UFC debut. She only has two fights with the organization and she already has an exclusive apparel deal with Reebok. The UFC obvisiouly sees the marketability value in VanZant and that has lead others to claim a sort of favoritism going on with her and the UFC. At UFC 191 she does a a firm test in the form of Alex Chambers.

Chambers (5-2) is fresh off an impressive come from behind victory over Kailin Curran back in May. Curran was in total control of the fight for two and a half rounds until Chambers was able to secure an armbar and force the tap. The win was Chambers’ first in the UFC. She lost her debut to Aisling Daly at the TUF 20 finale.

UFC 191 is scheduled to be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 5. A main event bout has yet to be announced.
