UFC Fight Night in San Diego has received a women’s bantamweight bout between Holly Holm and Marion Reneau. Holm is currently ranked number 10 in the division while Reneau is holding down the 11th spot.
Holm (8-0) made her UFC debut back in February with decision win over Raquel Pennington. Holm has only been in mixed martial arts since 2011 but has competed in professional boxing and kickboxing since 2002. Prior to her UFC debut, Holm had stints in Bellator MMA and in the Legacy Fighting Championship.
Renau (6-1) is coming off an upset win over Jessica Andrade in February. She was the underdog going into he fight but as able to land a triangle choke in the first round to win the bout and earn a $50,000 bonus.
UFC Fight Night in San Diego is scheduled to take place on July 15 from the Valley View Casino Center. The card will be headlined by a heavyweight match up between former champion Frank Mir and young knockout artist Todd Duffee.
