Three weeks after losing a main event spot, Glover Teixeira has been placed in a new one by the UFC. The former title challenger will take on Ovince St. Preux at the UFC Fight Night card that will be held in Nashville, Tennessee.
The event will be somewhat of a homecoming for St. Preux (18-6), who went to college at the University of Tennessee and currently fights out of Knoxville. St. Preux will be looking to extend his win streak to three with a win over Teixeira as he his coming off a win over Patrick Cummins in April and before that he defeated Mauricio “Shogun” Rua last August.
Teixeira (22-4) was originally scheduled to take on Alexander Gustafsson on June 20th in Berlin, Germany but a back injury to Gustafsson forced the bout to be cancelled. The Brazilian fighter is looking to get back to his winning ways as he is currently on a two-fight losing streak. His last lost came to Phil Davis at UFC 179.
UFC Fight Night in Nashville is slated to take place on August 8, 2015 from the Bridgestone Arena and will air live on Fox Sports 1.
