The WSOF is searching the globe for the best MMA talent and it appears that they have found a trio of fighters in Russia. On Wednesday the organization announced the signing of Vagab Vagabov (15-0), Magomed “Gladiator” Bibulatov (9-0), and Magomed “Tiger” Magomedov (10-1).
All three of the fighters were signed to multi-year and multi-fight deal and are expected to debut for the promotion in the near future.“We are excited to welcome these three fast-climbing, young stars to the WSOF roster and expect them to shake things up in the world of MMA,” said WSOF President Ray Sefo.
Vagabov will look to continue his undefeated ways in the WSOF’s middleweight division while Bibulatov add depth to the new flyweight division. Magomedov will enter the bantamweight division where champion Marlon Moraes currently reigns supreme.
“Over the last couple of years, we have seen a tremendous amount of high-caliber talent being unearthed from Russia, and I am proud to say that WSOF has been pro-active and played a significant part in these discoveries, and will continue to search and sign the most promising talent from this part of the world as well as elsewhere around the globe,” continued Sefo.
It seems more and more mixed martial artist are coming out of Russia. Bellator MMA has also dipped into the Russian talent pool over the years and now with the WSOF aggressively scouting and signing fighters from that country it will be interesting to see if UFC will start looking Russia for new talent.
