The RFA came back to AXS TV with two title fights on Friday April 10th. The main event bout saw featherweight champion Justin Lawrence retain his title against Sam Toomer giving the young fighter his first professional lost. Lawrence was able to use striking on the feet and ground to get the TKO win with only five seconds left in the first round. The win keeps Lawrence’s perfect RFA record in tact. He is now 3-0 with the organization after being cut from the UFC after two losses in a row.
Francisco France was crowned the new middleweight champion by defeating Gabriel Checco in a rather uneventful co-main event. The two fighter were competing for the vacant title and did little to bring excitement to the crowd who began booing during the fight. France extended his win streak to four and the decision win was the first of his career. All of his previous wins have come by way of submission. Below are the full results from RFA 25.
