UFC Hall of Fame members and former light heavyweight champions Chuck Liddell and Forrest Griffin will serve as coaches for the upcoming season of “TUF: Latin America”. The company made the announcement today via a press release.
This will the third season of the spin-off series which debuted in 2014. The upcoming season is set to air in August with the finale scheduled to take place on November 5th in Mexico City, Mexico. There has been no official announcement as to what weight classes will be featured during this season or when try-outs will be held.
Both Liddell and Griffin are no stranger to the “Ultimate Fighter” series as stated by the UFC in their press release.
“Both Liddell and Griffin have had a storied history with The Ultimate Fighter. The Iceman continued his journey in the reality series, keeping his perfect coaching record intact as his athlete won the season 11 tournament. Like Liddell, Griffin holds a perfect record as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter; returning to the series in 2008 to not only coach the eventual winner, but also three of the four semi-finalists.”
Liddell retired from action in 2011 following a knockout loss to Rich Franklin and Griffin stepped away from fighting in 2012 after defeating Tito Ortiz.
