Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Claudia Gadelha Rumored to Be New TUF Coaches

In a recent interview with Polish MMA news outlet MMARocks, UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk hinted very strongly that she and rival Claduia Gadelha will serve as coaches for the upcoming 23rd season of the Ultimate Fighter. The UFC has not officially commented on the casting for the upcoming season.

Strawweight contender Tecia Torres commented in a fan Q&A that she believes Jedrzejczyk and Gadelha will in fact coach on the new “TUF” season. Which has only added fuel to the rumors.

Reports are stating that the 23rd season of the reality series will begin filming in Las Vegas in January. Tryouts for this season were held in late November with casting calls the women’s 135-pound and 115-pound divisions along with men’s light heavyweight division. The show is expected to air in April on Fox Sports 1.

Jedrzejczyk and Gadelha are widely considered to top two strawweights in the world and have fought in the past. The two first meet at the UFC on Fox card held in December of 2014. Jedrzejczyk won the contest via a split decision but many agree the fight could have gone either way as it was a tightly contested bout.

The two were rumored for a rematch at UFC 193 but a reported injury to Gadelha forced her off the card and Valerie Letourneau was put in her place.
