Following her brutal knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193, former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was sent to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

Rousey was not present at the post fight press conference. According to UFC president Dana White Rousey did not suffer a concussion but did suffer a severely split lower lip. Reports stated that Rousey underwent plastic surgery to repair the damaged lip.

Rousey suffered the first loss of her professional MMA career on Saturday at UFC 193. Her challenger Holly Holm landed a head kick in the second round of their bantamweight championship bout that sent Rousey face down to the canvas. Holm followed up the kick with a few punches on the ground before the referee stepped in and stopped the bout.

UFC 193 took place at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia and according to reports the UFC broke their live attendance record with 56,214 and did live gate of $6.8 million dollars.
