UFC Releases Straw-weight Fighter Angela Hill

Women’s straw-weight and former Ultimate Fighter contestant Angela “Overkill” Hill has been released from the UFC. Hill confirmed her release through a post on her Facebook page.

Hill (2-2) entered the UFC with only one professional bout under her belt. After filming wrapped for the Ultimate Fighter, Hill won her UFC debut against Emily Kagan via a unanimous decision at the show’s finale. Hill would then be put into the deep waters of the division as she was pitted up against Tecia Torres at UFC 188. Hill would lose the bout by a unanimous decision to Torres who is a perfect 6-0 in her career and is currently ranked fourth in the UFC’s official rankings.

At UFC 192 Hill took on the number three ranked fighter and Ultimate Fighter finalist Rose Namajunas. Hill would go on to lose the bout after Namajunas sinked in a rear naked choked that forced her to tap in the first round. Hill cited her lack of professional experience that may have led to her release and stated that she is going to gain the experience needed for more successful UFC run.

The UFC’s straw-weight is still in its infancy and at one 27 years old it is more than likely that fans will see Hill inside the octagon in the future.
