An undisclosed injury has forced Joanne Calderwood out of her Fight Night main event bout against Paige VanZant. Stepping in for the injured Calderwood is former Ultimate Fighter finalist Rose Namajunas. The bout is scheduled to take place on December 10 live from The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas ans will air on the UFC Fight Pass.

VanZant (6-1) has been on the climb to the top of the UFC’s straw-weight rankings and is among the companies most popular fighters. She is 3-0 in the UFC with two of those wins coming by way of TKO and submission. She last competed at UFC 191 where she defeated former TUF contestant Alex Chambers.

Namajunas (3-2) made it to the finals of the Ultimate Fighter but lost the finale to Carla Esparza. During the season’s run, Namajunas became one of the most popular fighters to be featured. She has only fought once since the show’s finale and that was almost a year later. She most recently fought at UFC 191 where she defeated Angela Hill with a first round submission.

Fans were excited for the potential of a Calderwood and VanZant bout but there should be no less excitement with Namajunes in there instead of Calderwood.
