Uriah Hall as agreed to step in for the injured Roan Carneiro and face multiple time champion and MMA veteran Gegard Mousasi. The bout will take place when the UFC returns to Japan for a Fight Night event and will be held on September 27.
Carneiro’s injury was not disclosed to the media but Hall (11-5) had just fought earlier this month and earned a TKO victory over Oluwale Bamgbose. The bout was ended in the first round and was Hall’s fourth win in his last five bouts.
Mousasi (37-5-2) has quietly put together one of the most consistent MMA careers in history. He joined the UFC in 2013 and has compiled a 4-2 record with his losses coming to former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida and top ranked middleweight Jacare Souza. Mousasi is coming off a one-sided affair over Costas Philippou where he earned a unanimous decision victory.
UFC Fight Night in Japan will be held on September 27 from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan and will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Roy Nelson and Josh Barnett.
