Bisping Wins, Calderwood and Casey Steal the Show: UFC Fight Night Results

The UFC broke new ground on Saturday by having its first ever event held in the country of Scotland. The latest expansion into Europe was a successful one as this card drew over 10,000 fans packed the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.

The night was capped off my a middleweight bout between Michael Bisping and Thales Leites. Bisping would come out of the card the victor by earning a split decision from the judges. Bisping utilized his footwork to elude any offense from Leites and used his counter punching to score a majority of his points. Leites would mount a late rally but it proved to be too little too late as he was only able to win over one of the judges.

Thought it was Bisping who won the main event, the night’s brightest star was Scotland’s own Joanne Calderwood. Calderwood and opponent Courtney Casey engaged in a fight of the night performance that stole the show from the rest of the fighters. Casey took the fight on short notice and flew from Hawaii to take on the former TUF contestant.

Calderwood would go on to win the bout via a unanimous decision but the bout had little dull moments and the crowd was on its feet for the entire duration.
