UFC Fight Night in Adelaide, Australia saw 10 of its 12 bouts end in either a knockout or a submission. With that many finishes and impressive performances the UFC had many options in handing out the post fight bonuses. At the end of the day there could only be four winners and those were: Alex Chambers, Daniel Hooker, James Vick, and Robert Whittaker. Each of the fighters walked away with an extra $50,000.
Straw-weight fighter Alex Chambers pulled off a come from behind submission over Kailin Curran late in the third round of their preliminary card bout. Chambers was losing the fight on the feet and Curran looked to be cursing to a decision victory before Chambers was able to secure an armbar and take home the win. Chambers is a native of Australia.
Daniel Hooker’s head kick knockout over Hatsu Hioki earned him one of the bonuses and pushed his record to 12-5. Texas native James Vick closed out his bout with Jake Matthews by a guillotine choke with only a few seconds left in the first round gave him an extra $50,000 to take home as well.
The last post fight bonus went to co-main event fighter Robert Whittaker who only needed 44-second to knockout Brad Tavares. The win was Whittaker’s third straight.
