Asia’s biggest MMA promotion is set to crown its inaugural straw-weight champion. ONE Championship, formerly ONE Championship Fighting, announced on Monday that Roy Doliguez and Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke will battle it out for the right to be called champion. The bout is expected to take place in May at ONE Championship 27.

A native of the Philippines, Roy Doliquez has put together a 6-1 record over the past four years. His only loss came in 2012 and it was by a decision against. Doliquez has been proven to be a grinder as four of his six career wins have come by the judges’ scorecard. This bout with Amnuaysirichoke will mark his debut with the ONE Championship promotion.

Sor Amuaysirichoke is a native of Thailand and has only competed for ONE Championship where his has compiled a 4-0 record. He did not start his MMA career until last June. Since that bout he has won all four of his professional bouts by either knockout or submission.

ONE Championship 27 is scheduled to take place on May 22nd at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.
