Matt Brown Gets New Opponent for UFC 189

With the drama of Nate Diaz now behind him Matt Brown can finally look ahead to UFC 189 and start training for a new opponent. Brown will meet Tim Means at UFC 189. The fight was first announced on Fox Sports 1.

Brown was originally scheduled to take on Nate Diaz but after Diaz expressed his displeasure the bout was scrapped. It took the UFC less than a week after the fight with Diaz was scrapped to find Brown a new opponent.

Brown is looking to bounce back from back to back losses to Robbie Lawler and Johny Hendricks. Prior to the consecutive losses, Brown had rattled off seven wins in a row but fell shy of earning a title shot.

Means has been very active since returning to the UFC in 2014. He has fought five times since May of last year. He was recently seen last Saturday on the Fox card submitting George Sullivan. Means will have little time to relax as UFC 189 is set to take place on July 11th and will be headlined by the UFC featherweight championship bout between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor.
