We have not even gotten through this weekend’s UFC on Fox card and we already have the next one to look forward to. The UFC announced on Tuesday that the next time the UFC airs on Fox it will be on July 25 in Chicago. It also announced three major match ups for the event including a world championship bout.
The card will be headlined by the long-awaited rematch between Renan Barao and TJ Dillashaw for the UFC’s bantamweight championship. This was a fight that was supposed to happen at UFC 186 which takes place on April 25 but a rib injury to Dillashaw forced the bout to be rescheduled. That was the second time the fight had been postponed as it was originally scheduled to take place at UFC 177 but when Barao suffered a freak injury during the weigh-ins forced the former champion off the card. Hopefully for the UFC the third time is the charm and the two will finally have their rematch.
Also announced for the card will be former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis as he participates in his first fight since losing his belt to Rafael Dos Anjos. Pettis will take on Myles Jury who recently suffered his first career loss to Donald Cerrone at UFC 182.
A women’s bantamweight bout between former title challenger Miesha Tate and Jessica Eye round out the trio of fights announced for the card. Tate has rattled off three consecutive wins after losing her title bout against Ronda Rousey. For Eye, who is coming off a win over Leslie Smith, this will be her biggest opponent to date.
UFC on Fox will air live on July 25 from the United Center in Chicago.
