A heavyweight battle between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Stefan Struve has been booked for UFC 190 in Brazil. The event is scheduled to take place on August 1st and will be headlined by Ronda Rousey as she looks to defend her bantamweight championship against Bethe Correia.
It will be somewhat of a homecoming for Nogueira who has not fought in his native Brazil since 2013. A true veteran of mixed martial arts, Nogueira has had a rough go of it lately going 2-3 in his last five bouts. His most recent bout saw him lose via knockout against Roy Nelson back in April of 2014. His opponent Struve as well has had a bumpy road of late.
Struve is only 27 years old but has been in the UFC since 2009. The Dutch fighter is coming off consecutive knockout loses to Mark Hunt and Alistair Overeem respectively. Struve has battled a heart aliment recently but has given all indication that he his good to continue his MMA career.
