UFC in Fairfax, Virginia turned out to be a rather interesting event. Chad Mendes continued to prove just how good he is, Former TUF winner Julianna Pena returned to action, and Al Iaquinta dropped F-Bombs onto the crowd. Unfortunately for Iaquinta his post fight rant did not earn him any performance bonuses.

There was no Fight of the Night bonus handed out but the UFC did hand out four Performance of the Night awards. Chad Mendes, Julianna Pena, Dustin Poirier, and Timothy Johnson were all given 50,000 for their TKO wins.

Mendes scored a TKO win over Ricardo Lamas in the first round of their main event bout. Julianna Pena returned after over a year to finish Milana Dudieva in the first round with a flurry of offense. Dustin Poirier returned to the lightweight division with a first round finish of Carlos Ferreira and Timothy Johnson earned his bonus by defeating Shamil Abdurahimov in their prelim heavyweight battle.
