If you know anything about UFC lightweight Kevin Lee, you know that he is always looking for a fight. The 23-year-old Michigan native has stepped up to replace the injured Stevie Ray and face Jake Matthews at the “Ultimate Fighter” season 23 finale on July 8th.
Lee (12-2) recently defeated former “TUF” winner Efrain Escudero back in April at UFC 197. It was Lee’s fifth win inside the octagon and pushed his overall UFC record to 5-2. Lee was recently in a Twitter battle with former Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks and has also called out Sage Northcutt via social media. Though Jake Matthews may not be as high as a profile fight as Brooks or Northcutt, MMA fans know that Lee will still have a tough test ahead of him.
Matthews (10-1) entered the UFC on an six-fight win streak. The native of Australia would win his first two UFC bouts before losing James Vick in May of 2015. His last win came at UFC Fight Night back in March. There he defeated Johnny Case via a submission with only 15-seconds left in the bout.
The “TUF:23” Finale is set to take place on July 8th and will be part of the UFC’s International Fight Week that will culminate with UFC 200 on July 6th in Las Vegas.
