Current UFC strawweight competitor and former WSOF champion Jessica Aguilar has been forced to withdraw from her scheduled bout against Juliana Lima. The bout was supposed to take place at UFC 197 on April 23.
Aguilar announced on her Facebook page that she has suffered a torn ACL and will require surgery.
Aguilar (19-5) made her UFC debut back in August of 2015. She would go on to lose the bout to current number one contender Claudia Gadelha via a unanimous decision. Aguilar has been fighting professionally since 2006 has has competed in Bellator and the WSOF prior to joining the UFC.
The UFC has yet to comment on the injury to Aguilar and no word yet as to a potential replacement to step in and face Juliana Lima.
