An undisclosed injury has forced Kelvin Gastelum out of his UFC 195 bout against Kyle Noke. The injury was confirmed by the UFC on Tuesday. In Gastelum’s place will be Alex Morono, who will be making his UFC debut.
Gastelum (11-2) is coming off a decision loss to Neil Magny back in November. In the bout Magny started strong but faded in the later rounds. Gastelum would take control of the fight but it was too little too late as Mangy was awarded the split decision victory.
Noke (22-7) is currently on a two-fight win streak and was last seen at UFC 193. It was on that card he scored a highlight reel TKO win over Peter Sobotta. Noke landed a vicious body kick that echoed throughout the stadium and into everyone’s television sets. He followed that up with a series of punches to close out the fight for the win.
UFC 195 takes place January 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be headlined by a welterweight championship bout as Robbie Lawler looks to defend his title against Carlos Condit.
