Sage Northcutt has been added to the UFC’s Fight Night card to be held on December 10 in Las Vegas. Northcutt will face Cody Pfister. The fight was announced by the UFC on Monday.
Northcutt (6-0) made his promotional debut at UFC 192 amid a bit of scorn from other fighters and some in the MMA community for his journey to the octagon. He became the feature in a UFC Fight Pass reality series in which Dana White went searching the country for talent. Norhtcutt was hand selected by White and at only 19 years old, some are saying that the fighter may be all hype and that the UFC is only interested in marketable rather than actual talent.
The young fighter was able to silence some of the critics with his win against Francisco Trevino and now he will have other opportunity to prove to all the doubters that he belongs in the UFC.
His opponent on December 10 will be the 25 year old Pfister (12-4) who is coming off a decision win in his last outing. Pfister is one 1-1 in the UFC but has been a professional fighter 2010.
UFC Fight Night will take place on December 10 live from the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada and will be headlined by a women’s straw-weight bout between Joanne Calderwood and Paige VanZant.
