Get ready for the second Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor world tour everyone. The UFC announced that the men will hopefully meet face to face inside the octagon on December 12 at UFC 194. The fight will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Aldo and McGregor were originally scheduled to meet back in July at UFC 189. The bout had more hype behind it than any other UFC bout in history. Both men were sent on a “world tour” to promote the bout months ahead of the actual date. Unfortunately, just two weeks before UFC 189 Aldo was forced to pull out of the fight due to a rib injury.
Chad Mendes was called to step in for Aldo as he and McGregor battled it out to become the interim featherweight champion. McGregor would go on to win the bout with Mendes and now the UFC can finally proceed with highly anticipated match up between he and Aldo.
The location of the bout is worth noting because many had speculated that the UFC would try to push for this bout to take part at Cowboy Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
According the president Dana White having the bout take place in Vegas was something that not only the UFC wanted but others did as well “the MGM really wanted the fight and they made a huge effort for it and they got it. And it works out better for us to be in Las Vegas.”
UFC 194 is scheduled to take place on December 12 and will air live on pay-per-view.
