Only thing better than winning your fight is getting a bonus afterwards. At the post fight press conference Dana White announced the fighters that were awarded the $50,000 bonus. Ronda Rousey, Demian Maia, Mauricio Rua, and Antonio Rogerio Nogueria were all given rewards for the efforts at UFC 190.
Ronda Rousey, who defeated challenger Bethe Correia in 34 seconds with a devastating knockout was awarded one of the “Performance of the Nights” bonuses. The win was Rousey’s 12th of her career and put to rest any doubts about her stand up abilities. The win was Rousey’s third consecutive title defense that lasted under one minute. The post fight bonus is the icing on the cake for Rousey who stands to make a large amount when you factor in her salary, endorsement deal, and pay-per-view shares.
Demian Maia was awarded the other performance bonus for his jiu-jitsu clinic he put on in his win against Neil Magny to close out the preliminary card.
The night’s co-main event between veterans Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Antonio “Lil’ Nog” Nogueria was given the “Fight of the Night” honors. The fights started off in exciting fashion with a great ending to the first round but as the fight on the fighter’s cardio seemed to fade away but it was Shogun who did enough to take home the decision victory.
