Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson continued his reign of dominance in his victory over Kyoji Horiguchi Saturday night at UFC 186. The flyweight champion had the fight well in the bag and could have easily won a unanimous decision but instead he went for the finish and pulled off an armbar submission with one second left in the fight. Johnson is arguably the UFC’s most dominant champion and continues to make a case of being the best pound for pound fighter on the planet. He showed his full range of technique using strong grappling, stand up, and ground game to neutralize any momentum Horiguchi may have had.
The night’s co-main event saw the return of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson as he slugged out a unanimous decision win over Fabio Maldonado. The bout went as expected as it had a deliberate pace with Rampage inflicting a ton of damage to Maldonado. The former light heavyweight champion did try to mix up his attack with kicks and punches early on in the fight but ended the bout with a series of punches to the face and body.
Michael Bisping and CB Dollaway gave the fans an all out effort and had many calling it the fight of the night. In the end it was Bisping who gave the judges more as he scored a unanimous decision win. It was Lisping’s cardio and endurance that proved to the deciding factor as he was very active as the fight went on. Below is the full results from the entire card.
